NBT Bank

NBT Bank recently promoted John Buffa to regional president for NBT Bank’s Mohawk Valley locations in Oneida and Herkimer counties. Buffa, who has more than 27 years of banking experience, joined NBT Bank as assistant vice president and commercial lender in 1994. Prior to that, he was a commercial lender at Fleet Bank and commercial lender and credit analyst at Marine Midland Bank — both in Utica. Buffa earned his associate degree in banking and insurance at Mohawk Valley Community College. He has also completed numerous professional banking classes and programs. Brett J. Levitt has been promoted to commercial banking relationship manager for NBT in the Mohawk Valley. He joined the bank in 2007 as a commercial banking account representative. Prior to that, Levitt was a financial analyst at Cabinet Fabrication Group in Syracuse. He earned his MBA at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and his bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
