St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center has named AnneMarie Walker-Czyz chief operating officer and senior vice president for operations. She assumes these duties in addition to her role as St. Joseph’s chief nursing officer. Czyz joined St. Joseph’s in 1997. Since 2008, she has served as vice president of clinical services and chief nursing officer, leading a nationally recognized team of nurses. Czyz was the executive leader of St. Joseph’s recent implementation of its electronic health-record system. Prior to her current leadership role at St. Joseph’s, she served as director of critical care and cardiac services. Czyz earned her nursing degree from the St. Joseph’s College of Nursing and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. She also holds a master’s degree and clinical nurse specialist degree from Upstate Medical University. Czyz recently successfully defended her dissertation and will earn her Ed.D. in executive leadership.

St. Joseph’s also announced that Mary Brown will be moving to a part-time role at the end of 2014 and will serve as business development officer for the health-care system. She has served St. Joseph’s in a variety of key roles since joining the hospital in 1995; most recently as chief operating officer and senior vice president. Prior to this position, Brown served as vice president of business development and vice president of ambulatory services. Bernard Beck has been appointed director of business analytics. With more than 20 years of financial experience, he has spent the last 13 years of his career in a hospital setting. Beck has worked at St. Joseph’s as a coordinator in finance and most recently has worked on development of financial models for new population health-management programs. He has a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and an MBA from Syracuse University.
