Bonadio Group names new COO

SYRACUSE — The Bonadio Group, a Rochester–based accounting firm with an office in Syracuse, named a new chief operating officer this week.

Robert Enright, who was previously the firm’s executive vice president, will be the first non-certified public account (CPA) to serve in the role.

“It’s necessary to have leaders in the firm who are not CPAs to support the evolving practice of the industry and offer a different viewpoint to help us better meet our clients’ needs,” Bonadio Group CEO and Managing Partner Tom Bonadio said in a news release. “Bob’s knowledge of our industry combined with his experience in managing everything from HR to marketing makes him the ideal candidate for the job.”

As executive vice president, Enright worked on cost-containment strategies, forensic investigation, and strategic planning initiatives. As chief operating officer, Enright will be responsible for brand stewardship, strategic and market planning, competitive analyses, new product development and launch, website development advertising, public relations, and information technology management.

“I have the opportunity to bring a unique perspective to my new role at The Bonadio Group by utilizing my diverse work experiences in the nonprofit, government, and financial services industries,” Enright said. “I am honored to have the chance to serve in this new role for The Bonadio Group and hope this paves the way for other non-CPAs to break ground in the accounting industry.”

Enright joined Bonadio in 2006.

The Bonadio Group first entered the Syracuse market in 2007 with the acquisition of Loguidice & Kamide, CPAs PLLC. The firm has 350 employees statewide with additional offices in Buffalo, Albany, Geneva, Perry, and New York City.

Bonadio employs 55 people in Syracuse. Revenue totaled more than $46 million for the firm’s 2012 fiscal year, which ended in April.
