DeWITT — Inficon (SIX Swiss Exchange: IFCN) earned $9.1 million in the second quarter, down from $10.7 million a year earlier.
Earnings per share for the period totaled $4.08, down from $4.91 in the second quarter of 2011. Net sales fell 7.7 percent to $75.5 million.
Inficon, based in Switzerland, produces high-tech instrumentation, sensors, and process-control software. The firm’s products are used in manufacturing devices like smartphones, flat-screen TVs, and even solar cells.
