People news: MACNY taps Rowland as controller

DeWITT, N.Y. — The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) has announced that Mary Rowland has joined the organization as its controller.

Rowland began her duties with MACNY in early July.

In her new role, Rowland is responsible for all financial and accounting operations at MACNY and its affiliates.

Prior to joining MACNY, Rowland was the controller and accounting manager at the Syracuse–based law firm of Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, P.C. for more than three years.

She also worked as an audit supervisor for the DeWitt–based accounting firm of Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa CPA, P.C. for more than seven years, MACNY stated.

Rowland earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Geneseo, and earned her New York CPA certification in March 2010, according to MACNY.

MACNY says it is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) association representing almost 330 businesses and organizations across upstate New York. As an association of manufacturers, about three-quarters of MACNY’s members are industrial companies. The remaining members include accounting firms, insurance agencies, law firms, and financial institutions that seek to network with and serve manufacturers, MACNY says.
