People news: NBT Financial Services promotes Alger to assistant VP

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — Jordan Alger, a financial consultant at NBT Financial Services, was recently promoted to assistant vice president.

He is based at NBT Bank’s Johnson City office and provides customers in the Susquehanna County, Pa. and Greater Binghamton areas with access to financial and insurance products through LPL Financial, according to an NBT news release.

Alger joined NBT Financial Services in 2009 as a financial consultant associate, serving clients from NBT Bank’s Vestal office. Prior to that, he was a financial professional at AXA Advisors in Syracuse, the release stated. Alger earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hartwick College.

NBT Financial Services provides trust, investment, insurance, and retirement services to individuals and organizations in New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. The group had nearly $5.6 billion in assets under administration and management as of June 30, according to the news release.

NBT Financial Services and NBT Bank are part of NBT Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBTB), a financial holding company headquartered in Norwich, with total assets of $7.9 billion as of June 30.
