A 36-foot-long vehicle serving as the state Department of Financial Services (DFS) Mobile Command Center will bring mortgage-foreclosure specialists to Syracuse on Monday.
The specialists will be in the city to meet with homeowners who are in foreclosure or who are at risk of foreclosure. Their visit is part of a DFS foreclosure-prevention initiative launched in February. The Mobile Command Center has been travelling through New York state since then.
The foreclosure specialists will offer homeowners information about loan-modification programs they may be able to use. They will also provide guidance on filing complaints with DFS in potential predatory-lending cases.

Final Regulations for the Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit
The IRS recently issued final regulations for the Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit, clarifying and expanding key provisions from the proposed regulations released in late 2023. These updates are
“Our objective is to provide direct help to homeowners and get the word out to others that it’s important to ask for help as quickly as possible,” DFS Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky said in a news release. “The longer a homeowner waits, the harder it may be to save a home.”
The Mobile Command Center will be at Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse. Foreclosure-prevention specialists will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. DFS is urging homeowners to bring documents related to their situations, such as records of mortgage payments or letters from lenders.
