SYRACUSE, N.Y. — NBT Bank on Wednesday morning formally opened its new Clinton Square branch office at 126 N. Salina St. in downtown Syracuse.
It’s now operating in the building known for the mural of Clinton Square and surrounding area on the structure’s north-facing façade.
NBT Bank started operations at the North Salina Street location on April 30 after relocating from its previous branch at 300 South State St. in Syracuse.

“We wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to serve our customers and the community from a more modern and convenient banking facility,” Rick Shirtz, regional president of NBT Bank, said in a news release. “We have completely renovated our new space and are now able to offer our downtown customers a better experience through an easy-deposit ATM, two drive-up lanes and off-street parking.”
NBT Bank also used the occasion to make a $2,500 donation to Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare, according to Florence Doller, senior VP & director of corporate communications.
NBT Bank offers personal banking, business banking and wealth-management services. Its network of over 150 banking locations spans six states — New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
The bank and its parent company, NBT Bancorp (NASDAQ: NBTB), are headquartered in Norwich. NBT Bancorp had assets of $9.2 billion as of March 31.
