Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare launches online inpatient portal for health information

UTICA, N.Y. — Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) is introducing a new patient portal allowing patients to access their medical information before and after a hospital stay.

FSLH announced the online portal in a news release distributed on Wednesday.

“My Patient Portal” allows patients and their family members to review health information from their stay at FSLH in their hospital room, home, office, or mobile device, the hospital said in the release.

The portal is available through the hospital’s website (www.faxtonstlukes.com/patient-portals).

It includes medications and diagnosis at discharge; patient education and discharge instructions; contact information for next-care providers; and select laboratory results.

My Patient Portal signifies an “important step” toward improving patients’ health-care experiences, Dr. Michael Trevisani, vice president and chief medical officer of FSLH and Physician Group, said in the news release.

“This program reflects Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to advancing technology and providing all of our patients with enhanced access to, and ownership of, their personal-healthcare information,” Trevisani said.

Inpatients with a valid email address can supply an email during the hospital-admission process and start using the secure portal, the hospital said.

FSLH recently developed the portal, which includes patient information from July 21 to the present date, it added.

Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC) on March 6 formally announced their affiliation as the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS).

MVHS serves as the parent organization of both hospitals.
