Five Star Urgent Care opens Fayetteville office

The Camillus office of Five Star Urgent Care has operated since late March. The company on Thursday also opened its latest urgent-care center in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. — Five Star Urgent Care, a provider of walk-in, urgent-care services, on Thursday opened its third location in the Syracuse area with a new office in Fayetteville.

The new urgent-care center also represents the company’s sixth location between the Western and Central New York regions.

Five Star announced the office in a news release distributed on Thursday.

The new urgent-care center is located at 6870 East Genesee St. in Fayetteville and will serve patients from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. seven days a week, the company said.

Five Star treats all non-life threatening ailments including bronchitis, sprains, fractures, pre-employment medical exams, and handles stitches for minor open wounds.

It doesn’t require appointments.

The Fayetteville office employs 10 people, the company said in response to an email inquiry from the Business Journal News Network.

Five Star Urgent Care has scheduled an open house at the new Fayetteville office on Sept. 19 between 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The event will include a 9:00 a.m. ribbon cutting with state and local officials and business leaders from the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce.

“I am so pleased Five Star is now serving the people of Fayetteville, DeWitt, Manlius and Chittenango,” Dr. John Radford, founder and owner of Five Star Urgent Care, said in the news release.

Five Star markets itself as a health-care provider that operates “without the long wait times and high costs consistent with most hospital emergency rooms and other centers,” according to its news release.

Five Star Urgent Care has opened two new locations per year since opening its first center in Big Flats (Elmira area) in January 2012.

The company first entered the Syracuse market in May 2013 when it launched a new facility on Route 11 in Cicero. Five Star then opened its second office in the Fairmount area of Camillus in March of this year.

Besides the Syracuse-area locations, Five Star also operates urgent-care centers in Ithaca, Big Flats, and Jamestown.

A management and billing company in Ellicottville, N.Y. in Erie County serves as the headquarters for Five Star Urgent Care, Radford said in an interview with the Business Journal News Network back in April.
