LANSING, N.Y. — Envisage Information Systems, LLC, a Lansing–based software-development company, has promoted Robert Snyder to vice president of solutions and innovation from director of application development.
Envisage, which also has offices in Syracuse and Endicott, specializes in software that provides web access, data connection, and workflow automation products to the retirement industry.
In his new position, Snyder will support Envisage’s 401(k) technology development operations, support solution-development teams across the company, and lead research and development and new product-development efforts. Snyder was one of Envisage’s first developers and the architect of many Envisage products, according to a company news release. He helped to define and build the industry’s first full-featured participant, sponsor, and consultant 401(k) access websites, along with other key Envisage products and technologies, the release stated.
“With his background in developing technology-based retirement plan solutions, Rob Snyder has the experience and expertise to lead the Envisage team in creating outcome-focused solutions for plan sponsors, participants, and financial advisors,” Steff McGonagle, president and CEO of Envisage, said in the release.
Receiving his bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, Snyder joined Envisage in 1996. He led the project that produced Envisage’s first 401(k) Internet product for a small third-party administration firm in Mechanicsburg, Pa. During his career at Envisage, he has served as mentor, educator, designer, developer, IT administrator, and director, the release stated.
Snyder left the company during the early 2000s and returned in 2012. Prior to rejoining Envisage, he was a senior engineering manager in IBM’s Enterprise Systems Mainframe division, as well as an instructor of networking technology and computer science with SUNY.
In 2011, 2012, and 2013, Envisage was included in Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5000 list, which honors the fastest growing private companies in America.
