ENDICOTT — Months after it was displaced by severe flooding at its Johnson City location, BAE Systems announced today its new permanent home will be on the Huron Campus in Endicott.
BAE has been located at the site temporarily since the flooding. After months of work with state and federal officials to “obtain the best circumstance for our business continuation in the region,” it selected the Huron Campus, the company said in a news release.
BAE shuttered its Main Street facility in Johnson City after 16 million gallons of water flooded the plant following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in August and September. In October, the company announced it would not return to Johnson City and was looking for a new home — either in the Southern Tier or within existing BAE space around the country.
