Syracuse Industrial Development Agency to begin streaming meetings in June

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Fans of industrial development will have to wait until next month’s meeting of the Syracuse Industrial Development Agency (SIDA) to view the proceedings live on their computers, tablets, and smart phones.

Today’s 8:30 a.m. meeting was scheduled to be streamed through the Internet, according to a notice issued by the agency, but live streaming was put off until next month.

When streaming begins, meetings will viewable through Syracuse’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/cityofsyracuse).

Since Mayor Ben Walsh took office in January, the city has begun live streaming meetings and making recordings of them available for watching online.

SIDA meetings take place in the Common Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall. Cameras have been positioned at the front and back of the room.

At today’s meeting, SIDA board member unanimously approved funding, not to exceed $7,500, to pay for streaming the agency’s meetings.
