Sutherland Global Services seeks to fill 200 jobs in Syracuse office

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Sutherland Global Services, a Rochester–based business process and technology-management services provider, has plans to fill 200 jobs in its Syracuse office.

That word comes from the New York State Department of Labor, which on Tuesday announced it is working with Empire State Development to help Sutherland find candidates for the local positions.

The jobs include customer-support chat consultants, customer-support representatives, help-desk support technicians, and outbound sales representatives, according to the state Labor Department.

The department has scheduled a career-recruitment event on Oct. 16 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Rosamond Gifford Conference Room at 1 Conservation Pl. in Syracuse.

It also encourages candidates to pre-register online at the website: www.labor.ny.gov/sutherland.

In that process, candidates can take a pre-assessment test before the job fair so staff members can determine the positions for which they provide “the best fit,” the state Labor Department said.

Sutherland offers “an integrated portfolio of analytics-driven” back-office and customer-facing services and is one of the largest, independent business-process outsourcing companies in the world serving several industries, according to a description on the state Labor Department news advisory.

Sutherland employs more than 30,000 people and has locations across the U.S., Brazil, Philippines, Malaysia, China, India, UAE, Egypt, Bulgaria, UK, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Jamaica, according to its website.
