LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — Edge Federal Credit Union (FCU), a Liverpool–based credit union with $39 million in assets and nine full-time employees, has launched a mobile check-deposit service for members.
Edge FCU contends it’s one of the first credit unions in Central New York to offer such a service.
“Many of the larger national banks and credit unions have the service, however, it is tough to come by in many credit unions because of risk and operating costs, being that credit unions are not-for-profit financial institutions and give any gains back to the membership,” Aerik Radley, marketing & communications specialist for Edge FCU, said in a news release. She said the credit union’s members were requesting the service.

Inflation and Insurance Rates: How to Offset the Impact
Many industries have been hit by inflation where it hurts the most, our pockets. Inflation is raising the price of goods and services including food, housing, transportation, and medical care.
“Being on the edge of technology is important in the financial industry. The trick will be to continue to develop it and continue our mission of offering a personal service that educates, provides opportunities, allows for members to achieve their goals…,” Radley noted in the release.
Edge FCU (www.edgefcu.org) was founded in 1956 by educators of the Liverpool Central School District. To date, Edge FCU facilitates three elementary-school savings programs, one middle-school savings program, and two student-run credit-union branches. Edge FCU said it also offers a number of adult-education opportunities.
