Human Technologies appoints Smith VP of business development

Don Smith

UTICA, N.Y. — Human Technologies announced it has appointed Don Smith as VP of business development.

His primary focus will be developing new equipment, uniform, and supply chain management programs with the New York Department of State while also pursuing commercial federal opportunities with other government agencies for Human Technologies — a not-for-profit social enterprise whose mission is to provide jobs for people with disabilities.

Prior to joining Human Technologies, Smith oversaw developing federal business for one of the largest State Department suppliers, Atlantic Diving Supply, where he worked for seven years and was consistently one of the top sales performers for the $1.7 billion company, according to a Human Technologies news release. He has held positions as the VP at Territorial Mint and a senior systems engineer at CACI, which provides information solutions and services in support of national security missions.

Smith spent 14 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he trained pilots for five years, then moved to the National Military Command Center and worked for the Joint Staff at the Pentagon in its nuclear ops/command and control areas.

Human Technologies, established in 1954, is headquartered in Utica with operations throughout New York state, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and northern Virginia.
