Dupli acquires PCI Paper Conversions, will move to PCI office in DeWitt

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse–based Dupli Envelope & Graphics has announced the acquisition of PCI Paper Conversions, Inc., which is headquartered in DeWitt.

The deal did not include Advanced Polymers International, PCI’s adhesive-manufacturing division, Dupli said in its news release.

Dupli didn’t release any terms of the acquisition agreement in its news release.

PCI is a manufacturer of removable, “repositionable” print-media products including repositionable adhesive coated paper and film, which its coated-products division produces; removable-adhesive products for wholesale, which its Stik-Withit PrintWorks division produces; and promotional stationery and advertising items that its Notes, Inc. division handles, according to the Dupli news release.

The products include Stik-Withit note pads; Note Cube edge-printed memo pads; desktop calendars; wall graphics; bumper and window stickers; self-adhesive bulletin boards; and dry-erase products, Dupli said.

John Withers founded PCI in 1973, according to the Dupli news release.

Besides envelope printing, Dupli’s core services also include on-demand marketing collateral, direct-mailing services, and corporate-stationery products.

The company contends that adding PCI’s products will “fit well” into its focus on printed products “that help customers grow their revenues.”

Dupli is “extremely excited” to have the PCI family on the team, J. Kemper Matt Jr., president of Dupli, said in the news release.

“Adding their products will offer a real advantage to our customer base in their efforts to grow their businesses. The Stik-Withit Note Cubes and Note Pads are great gifting products with year-long branding reach, and the removable self-adhesive product category allows us to extend into the school, home and office supply markets,” said Matt.

Dupli will hire more than 80 PCI employees and relocate its business to PCI’s 138,000-square-foot headquarters at 6761 Thompson Rd. in DeWitt.

Dupli already employs about 120 people, according to the Book of Lists 2014.

Combining both businesses in the same production facility will offer “significant” opportunities to improve services and “grow” the combined business.

Dupli’s current building at 1 Dupli Park Dr. in Franklin Square will be developed into high-end corporate office space, the firm said.

Besides its local operations, Dupli also operates production facilities in Malvern, Pa. (outside Philadelphia) and Newington, Conn. (near Hartford), according to its news release.

The PCI acquisition represents the fourth company Dupli has acquired in the last three years with a specific strategy to diversify its products, services and customers.

For example, Dupli acquired Lettergraphics in 2013 to add mailing services to its offerings.
