People news: Engineering firm promotes two at Skaneateles Falls office

Chris Latreille

Latreille has been with the firm since 2001 and manages many of its structural-design projects in the educational, health care, and construction-support markets. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Latreille is the current VP of the Central New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and served as president for three years. He is also the political-action committee liaison for the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York Central Region and serves as the chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Advisory Board at RPI.

Latreille was project manager of structural design for the Smart Energy Research and Development Facility at Binghamton University, the Peggy Ryan Williams Center at Ithaca College, and the Educational Opportunity Center at the University at Buffalo. He has also provided the structural design of several additions at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca and the new addition at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Latreille is currently designing the clinical lab addition on Bailey Road for the University of Rochester. He holds professional engineering licenses in New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

John Pillar

Pillar has been with the firm since 2012 and provides structural engineering design on many of the firm’s new building projects in the educational, commercial, and medical markets. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University, is a member of ACI and currently serves as the president of the Central New York Chapter.

Pillar has provided the structural design of the new Health & Wellness Center on the Alfred University campus and the Natural Science Center at Broome Community College, and several design and renovation projects for the Liverpool Central School District. He is currently designing the Academic Success Building at SUNY Brockport, the Alumni House and Visitors Center at SUNY Buffalo, and the new Health and Wellness Center at SUNY Upstate. He holds professional engineering licenses in New York and Virginia and a structural engineer license in Illinois.
