People news: Progressive Dental names new partner

NORWICH, N.Y. — Progressive Dental, PLLC has named Dr. Matthew L. Franklin a partner at the practice in Norwich. He has been with the dental practice since 2005.

Franklin grew up locally in Endwell/Endicott and graduated from Penn State University in 2000, according to a news release from Progressive Dental. He received his D.D.S. from New York University in 2004 and completed a one-year general practice residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and the Memorial/Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Franklin is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Sixth District Dental Society, and the International Association of Orthodontics.

“I am thrilled to transition to the role of partner at Progressive Dental,” says Franklin. “I truly appreciate the opportunity to serve the community in which I was raised, and I look forward to growing our family here and continuing to develop relationships with patients in the area.”

Progressive Dental (www.progressivedentalny.com) has offices in Endwell, Kirkwood, Norwich, as well as Montrose, Pennsylvania. The practice got its start in the Binghamton region in 1991, when Dr. Sonny Spera, a former Syracuse University basketball player, took over the practice of a dentist who was retiring. Over the years, the practice has expanded from one office to four.
