UTICA, N.Y. — The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association announced that it will soon have a new executive director in Utica.
Current executive director Jennifer Balog says she is stepping down to pursue continuing education. Balog’s resignation will take effect on Nov. 17.
In her four years with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Balog has made “significant contributions” to the advancement of the association’s mission in the community, the organization said in a news release. That includes growing the Community Impact Grant program to fund local projects improving the health of the Greater Utica area, an increased focus on lifesaving Hands-Only CPR training, and revitalizing America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk weekend.
“Jennifer has been an extraordinary leader to our volunteers and our staff,” Liz Campbell, senior VP, Western Region of the Founders Affiliate, said in a news release. “Hers will be very difficult shoes to fill.”
