Bankers Healthcare Group hires regulatory relations officer

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG), a provider of financing to health-care providers, announced it has hired Gale Simons-Poole as regulatory relations officer.

In this new position, she will assist BHG with regulatory and compliance matters, as well as support the company’s risk management and reporting.

“Gale is a terrific addition to BHG who will help strengthen our commitment to managing potential risk and ensuring compliance across all areas of our business and with our key strategic partners,” BHG CEO Al Crawford said in a news release.

Simons-Poole’s bank-supervision career spans three decades, including 23 years with the FDIC, most recently as deputy regional director of risk-management supervision. She previously spent seven years as a director for Promontory Financial Group, a Washington, D.C.–based financial services consulting firm. In that role, she advised a variety of clients, from the largest insured national banks to community banks, BHG said.

Simons-Poole earned an MBA from Louisiana Tech University and a bachelor’s degree from Black Hills State University.

BHG’s financial headquarters is located in Syracuse and its corporate headquarters is in Davie, Florida. Since 2001, the firm has provided more than $3 billion in financing to more than 100,000 licensed health-care practitioners.
