SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC announced it has recently hired Karen Hovey as a principal in its tax department.
She has more than 25 years of experience in audit, tax, and accounting services as a CPA and more than 14 years of experience as a certified fraud examiner. Hovey previously was a principal at the Bonadio Group, an accounting firm based in Rochester, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Hovey received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Clarkson University. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). She also serves as the treasurer for the Upstate Chapter of the ACFE.
