Naturally Lewis launches three grant programs with $150K in funding

LOWVILLE, N.Y. — Naturally Lewis is announcing three new grant funds with funding that totals $150,000.

Money for the new funds is available through its Community Economic Development Fund, Naturally Lewis said in its announcement.

The grant funds include the Small Things, Big Impacts Fund; the Community Connections Fund; and the Building Business Fund.

The Community Economic Development Fund is the result of a host-community agreement between the Lewis County Development Corporation and Number Three Wind Farm.

The Community Economic Development Fund committee will review applications for all programs. The group includes six community leaders and one board member from the Lewis County Development Corporation.

 Grant fund details

The Small Things, Big Impacts Fund ($20,000) will support smaller-scale projects that will make a big impact with grants of up to $1,000. The 2023 priority for this fund is visibility, “including, but not limited to,” signage, branding, packaging, murals/artwork, and mobile visibility.

Applications for the Small Things, Big Impacts Fund will open on July 17 and close on Aug. 18 at 3 p.m.

The Community Connections Fund ($30,000) will support municipalities, schools, and community organizations in projects that will enhance the quality of life for the benefit of the greater community.

The Building Business Fund ($100,000) will support local businesses providing matching funds to invest in “tools” to scale up and grow with grant awards totaling $10,000 or more. Recipients can use funding awards for literal tools (equipment/machinery) or figurative tools (business services/professional services) to assist business growth. Applications for the Building Business Fund will open on Sept. 5 and close on Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.
