Honeywell’s Adams: Company has completed dredging and capping of Onondaga Lake

Kate Adams

“14 years after my first trip to Syracuse, after hundreds of thousands of hours of investigation, design, and engineering; close to five million worker hours; thousands of community meetings; 14,000 visits to our Onondaga Lake visitors center; and the successful deployment of a green, sustainable remedy, I am proud to say the dredging and capping of Onondaga Lake is now complete,” Adams said in her remarks.

Those gathered at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter in Syracuse greeted Adams’ pronouncement with applause.

Adams shared her perspective and experience leading Honeywell’s Onondaga Lake cleanup and restoration efforts for which she has had responsibility since joining the company in 2003.

In her remarks, Adams also provided insight into Honeywell’s global-growth strategy and its “commitment to corporate citizenship,” according to a CenterState CEO news release issued Thursday.

As part of the leadership team at Honeywell, Adams is responsible for managing all of the company’s legal affairs.

She also handles the firm’s government relations; health, safety, environment, product stewardship and sustainability; and global security, CenterState CEO said.
