People news: POMCO names Price president of risk management

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — POMCO Group, a third-party administrator of self-funded health-care and risk-management plans, announced it has promoted David Price to president of risk management.

Price has been VP of risk management at POMCO for 13 years. As president of the firm’s risk-management business unit, Price will continue to be responsible for the strategy and operations of all of POMCO’s risk management, workers’-compensation, and property and casualty third-party administration services, the Syracuse–based firm said in a news release.

“Our clients rely on the expertise that David brings to the cost effective management of their workers’ compensation plans and other risk management solutions. We are extremely fortunate to have David continue in his executive leadership position as POMCO,” Donald P. Napier, POMCO senior executive VP, said in the release.

Price is a board member of Kids Chance of New York, a charity offering scholarships to children of parents who were killed or became disabled in a work-related accident. He is also a member of the New York Self Insured Association, Self Insurance Institute of America, and the New York Self Insured Counties Association.
