PAR subsidiary wins new $1.8 million U.S. Navy contract in Africa

ROME, N.Y. — PAR Technology Corp. recently announced that its subsidiary, Rome Research Corp. (RRC), has been awarded a $1.8 million prime contract to provide engineering services and install “critical” telecommunications infrastructure at the Camp Lemonnier (CLDJ) in the nation of Djibouti in Africa.

The contract term is 27 months. CLDJ is the primary U.S. Navy base for all operations in the Horn of Africa region.

“This contract expands our presence in Africa and will only enhance our efficiency and service quality to the region,” Matt Cicchinelli, president of PAR Government, a company unit that includes RRC, said in a news release.

PAR Government, headquartered in Rome, N.Y., provides intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology to the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. government agencies, and private industry.

PAR Technology (NYSE: PAR), based in New Hartford, is a provider of restaurant/retail management systems and government-contract services. It generated $55.3 million in revenue in the first quarter of this year.
