DeWITT, N.Y. — Melissa Menon has joins Darco Manufacturing Inc. as talent/community engagement manager, the DeWitt–based precision-machining services company announced.
Menon brings Darco more than 10 years of counseling know-how and experience developing and implementing innovative programs and services in education and workforce access, the company said in a news release. Menon is tasked with developing a replicable talent-management system for the manufacturing firm. Her work will include fostering relationships between Darco, business partners, community organizations, and education/training programs to inspire curiosity and interest in manufacturing, the company said.
Menon was previously director of college and career access at On Point for College Inc., a Syracuse–based nonprofit that helps helps low-income traditional and non-traditional students get into and complete college. There, she designed and oversaw the implementation of comprehensive career services for low-income first-generation college students, graduates, and non-graduates, the release stated.
Menon now serves on the board of directors of the Onondaga Citizens League (OCL), as co-chair of the current OCL study. She will continue to serve On Point for College as a member of the Jobs Advisory Council. Menon is a member of the Leadership Greater Syracuse class of 2016, and was a 40 Under Forty award recipient in 2014.
