ALBANY, N.Y. — New York realtors completed the sale of more than 12,100 previously owned homes in June, up nearly 10 percent from about 11,100 completed sales in June 2015.
The number of homes realtors sold during the first half of 2016 was up more than 15 percent compared to the same time period in 2015.
That’s according to the housing-market report that the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR) issued Friday.

Sales data
New York realtors closed more than 31,000 home sales in the second quarter, up 12 percent from nearly 27,700 homes sold in last year’s second quarter.
June 2016 closed sales increased 9.6 percent compared to a year ago to reach 12,176.
The year-to-date statewide median sales price was $230,000, an increase of 2.2 percent from the same period in 2015.
The statewide median sales price during the second quarter was also $230,000, a rise of 2.4 percent compared to the second quarter 2015 median of $224,500.
The June 2016 statewide median sales price of $248,500 represents an increase of 8 percent compared to the June 2015 median of $230,000.
Pending sales increased 11 percent to more than 41,000 in the second quarter compared to nearly 36,900 in the 2015 second quarter.
The June 2016 pending sales figure of 13,866 was up nearly 6 percent compared to 13,104 a year ago.
Central New York data
Realtors in Broome County sold 137 existing homes in June, down 9 percent from 151 a year ago, according to the NYSAR report. The median sales price fell more than 14 percent to about $104,000 from more than $121,000 a year ago.
In Jefferson County, realtors closed on 100 homes in June, up more than 11 percent from 90 a year ago, and the median sales price fell 5 percent to $156,000 from $165,000 in June 2015, according to the NYSAR data.
NYSAR also reports that realtors sold 191 homes in Oneida County last month, up nearly 5 percent from 182 in June 2015. The median sales price rose more than 11 percent to $133,000 from about $119,000 a year ago.
Sales of previously owned homes rose 6 percent to 512 in Onondaga County in June from 483 a year earlier, and the median sales price rose nearly 4 percent to $139,000 from almost $134,000 a year ago, according to the NYSAR report.
All home-sales data is compiled from multiple-listing services in New York state and it includes townhomes and condominiums in addition to existing single-family homes, according to NYSAR.
