SYRACUSE — M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) announced it has appointed Joseph T. Mancuso to its Directors Advisory Council for the Central New York region. At its regular meetings throughout the year, the council provides M&T management with input on many matters related to its business and communities across Central New York, the bank says.
Mancuso is a partner and member of the five-person executive committee at the Syracuse–based law firm Hancock Estabrook, LLP.
“With almost 20 years of experience practicing banking and finance law in Syracuse, Joseph brings with him an intimate understanding of our industry’s regulations and how to effectively work within them to best support our customers and community. His extensive legal knowledge in areas such as lending and borrowing, mergers and acquisitions, and contract negotiations will prove to be a tremendous asset to M&T Bank as we continue to expand in the Central New York region,” Allen Naples, M&T Bank regional president for Central New York, said in a news release.
Before Hancock Estabrook, Mancuso was area sales manager for the Eveready/Energizer Battery Company, where he managed $8 million worth of the company’s business in a five-state area.
In the community, Mancuso is a trustee and board vice chair for Bishop Grimes Jr. and Sr. High School and board secretary at the Onondaga Golf & Country Club. He also belongs to the New York State Bar Association, Onondaga County Bar Association, New York State Economic Development Council, New York Bankers Association, and National Association of Bond Attorneys.
He is a graduate of Syracuse University and its College of Law.
