CenterState CEO hires Alheim, Rahman for communications, marketing work

The organization hired Kara Alheim as its content and marketing manager, and Najee Rahman as its digital-communications manager.

As content and marketing manager, Alheim will produce marketing collateral (brochures or sales-support tools), public-relations materials, and advertising and digital content for CenterState CEO and its programs.

Alheim will also provide direct marketing and communications support to the Tech Garden for Genius NY, a business-accelerator program. Genius NY stands for Growing ENtrepreneurs & Innovators in UpState New York.

Rahman assumes many of the responsibilities that Sarah Roche, CenterState CEO’s previous digital manager, had handled before leaving the organization to pursue digital-communications opportunities in Texas, Elle Hanna, director of communications and media relations at CenterState CEO, said in an email message responding to a BJNN inquiry.

Alheim will also handle some of that work, but will focus primarily on marketing efforts for the Genius NY program, Hanna added. Alheim most recently served as the tourism and public-information officer for Oswego County.

She holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communication from Marist College and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from SUNY Oswego.

Rahman brings a “wide range of digital experience” to his role as digital-communications manager, working to expand CenterState CEO’s digital presence and online “engagement,” the organization said.

He’s previously worked in Sydney, Australia in digital-marketing efforts for helloworld.com.au, an online travel agency.

Rahman eventually returned to Central New York where he has worked as a digital-marketing specialist and special-events coordinator for multiple brands for San Diego, California–based OIM squared, a computer-vision firm.

Rahman holds a bachelor’s in business administration from SUNY Oswego, CenterState CEO said.
