UTICA, N.Y. — Craylee’s Diner recently formally opened in downtown Utica.

Craylee’s, located at 237 Bleecker St., was remodeled by owner Jennifer Mandia and Lance De Shane and is open daily for breakfast and lunch, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“I commend Jennifer and Lance for doing an outstanding job in transforming this building. The best sign of an improved economy is when local developers and entrepreneurs invest in our City and I thank Jennifer and Lance for their vision and wish them lots of success,” Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri said in an Oct. 6 news release. Palmieri was at the restaurant that day for the formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Craylee’s Diner first opened to the public on Sept. 21, according to its Facebook page.

The page says it has been Mandia’s “dream for many years to open her own diner, and through blood, sweat, and tears [it] has finally come to fruition.” She has more than 20 years of experience in the food-service profession.
