The effort represents the first export-promotion tour since the start of the pandemic in 2020. The federal government declared an end to the COVID-19 national emergency last month, so ESD is “committed to ensuring New York’s diverse goods reach global markets,” per its announcement.
“Today’s global marketplace is extraordinarily complex, and we want New York–based businesses to know that ESD can help them unlock the ‘world’ of economic opportunity that exists beyond our borders,” Hope Knight, president, CEO and commissioner of Empire State Development, said. “With some of the finest and most diverse goods produced right here in New York, Global NY’s Export Promotion Tour will help companies understand how to export their products from the Empire State to the world.”
At each tour stop, the Global NY foreign-office representatives will deliver presentations and share insights on international markets and provide “firsthand” global-export guidance to New York State businesses. A question-and-answer session will follow each of the presentations and companies in attendance will also have the chance to schedule one-on-one consultations with the representatives.
