VERONA, N.Y. — The former La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham, located near Turning Stone Resort Casino, has new owners and will soon rebrand into a Comfort Inn & Suites by Choice Hotels.
The real-estate developer Benchmark Development announced that it’s in the process of finalizing its acquisition of the property and expects the renovated hotel will be ready to welcome guests later this summer.
The new Comfort Inn & Suites, located on Oneida Indian Nation land at 5394 Willow Place in Verona, will feature 97 guest rooms including nine extended-stay suites with full apartment-style amenities. The entire property will undergo a complete renovation and refresh.

Guests with upcoming reservations will receive assistance with alternate lodging options during the construction period.
Based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Benchmark Development has worked on other projects in the area and with the Oneida Indian Nation. Those projects include the Hampton Inn at Turning Stone and The Cove at Sylvan Beach.
It’s also working on the Sandstone Apartments at Turning Stone, a 215-apartment project on the Sandstone Golf Course.
