People news: Bassett names new chief of pediatrics

Brandon Greene

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Bassett Healthcare Network announced it has appointed Dr. Brandon Greene as its new chief of pediatrics.

Greene joined Bassett in 2022 as its director of inpatient pediatrics and as a practicinginpatient pediatric hospitalist. He also served as pediatric clerkship director for the Columbia-Bassett Medical School Program, where he helped instruct medical students during their clinical rotations in Cooperstown.

A rural health system that provides the level of care most often found in large urban settings is rare indeed, especially one with Bassetts outstanding reputation, Greene saidin a news release from the health system. Bassett has a unique opportunity and responsibility to play a transformational role in rural pediatric healthcare.

We in school-based health are thrilled to have Dr. Greene as the new chief of pediatrics, Jane Hamilton, Bassetts school-based health-practice manager, said. His vision on how school-based health centers and Bassetts other pediatric clinics will be able to intersect is exciting and will strengthen an already remarkable department.
