Crouse Health annual Lights of Love campaign to benefit repairs to the clock tower

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Crouse Health’s annual Lights of Love campaign will benefit repairs to the clock tower on which the lights are displayed.

The health system held the lighting ceremony on Monday evening. The family of the late New York State Senator Tarky Lombardi, Jr. handled the lighting ceremony. Lombardi died Nov. 24 at the age of 95.

This year’s campaign proceeds will benefit the update and repair of the iconic Crouse clock tower itself, a Syracuse landmark that has been lighting the city’s skyline since 1927, Crouse Health said. The clock tower needs structural repairs and restoration including the roof, windows, and painting, it added.

The 3,000 lights on the clock tower represent gifts — given in honor or in memory of a loved one or colleague — that will support the hospital’s ability to provide medical services and programs.
