Accounting firm DBB expands in Mohawk Valley

NEW HARTFORD — Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC expanded its presence in the Utica area with the addition of Calogero & Associates.

The accounting firms combined their operations at the start of this year. The move will allow Dermody to start offering Calogero services including payroll and credit card processing.

Calogero clients will have access to new offerings from Dermody including succession planning, business valuation, retirement plan administration, and litigation support.

Dermody has had an office in the Mohawk Valley for years. The firm’s strategic plan called for expansion in the market, Dermody CEO Madelyn Hornstein says.

“We don’t want to just stay in the Syracuse footprint,” she says. “We’re always looking for either individuals that we think will add depth or small firms we can combine with.”

All six of Calogero & Associates’ employees moved over in the combination. They are relocating to Dermody’s New Hartford office, which now has 10 employees.

Dermody, which also has an office in Auburn, employs 86 people.
