Adrienne McCormick, Ph.D.

Adrienne McCormick, Ph.D. will become dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at SUNY Oswego on July 11. She has served SUNY Fredonia as interim associate provost for curriculum, assessment, and academic support since last fall. A longtime professor of English at Fredonia, she received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Faculty Service in 2012. McCormick joined Fredonia’s English faculty as an assistant professor in 1998 after receiving her doctorate in English literature and a graduate certificate in women’s studies from the University of Maryland. She completed her master’s degree with a creative thesis in poetry at the University of Tennessee, and earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature and dramatic arts and sciences from Queens College. McCormick is the author of book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals on contemporary women poets, filmmakers, and dramatists.
