GEDDES, N.Y. — Advance tickets for the upcoming Winter Fair at the New York State Fairgrounds will go on sale Thursday at the Winter Fair’s website, nyswinterfair.com.

The event is set for Feb. 7 through Feb. 9, inside the Expo Center. Premier Promotions unveiled details about the Winter Fair during a Monday news conference.

More than 25,000 people attended the inaugural Winter Fair last year, the state said in a news release.

Advance sale admission is $5 for adults and $3 for teens/pre-teens and seniors. At the door, admission is $7 for adults and $5 for teens/pre-teens and seniors. Children 10 and under will be admitted free of charge.

“Everybody loves the New York State Fair, and we want to give families the chance to experience elements of the Fair during the winter,” says Steve Becker, owner and president of Premier Promotions, the Winter Fair’s promoter. “It’s going to be a party to chase away those winter doldrum.”

Winter Fair 2020 will include food vendors, crafters, businesses, and nonprofit organizations along with entertainment, special features and indoor midway rides. The Mini-Midway will also return.

“For Winter Fair 2020, we are expanding the Mini-Midway. The big ride attraction last year was the Ferris Wheel. So, for Winter Fair 2020, we will have two Ferris Wheels. We are also adding the Avengers ride and we’ll have at least 15 rides in the Mini-Midway. There will be games, amusements and carnival food, too,” Kevin Jankowicz, an owner of Main Events Amusements, said in the release.

New for 2020 is a fireworks display, taking place Friday and Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m.

The event also include ice sculptures, which will line the sidewalk to the Expo Center. Entertainment includes cultural dancers from the Six Nations tribes; Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy; Irish dancers; and a karate demonstration.

The Winter Fair will also include Fair food “favorites” such as the Villa Pizze Fritte; food from Henry’s Hen House; Kiki’s Authentic Greek Food; Limp Lizard BBQ; Baked Potato Express; and donuts from Glazed and Confused.

Bands that are scheduled to perform include the Barndogs with Miss E; Atlas; Just Joe; the Brownskin Band with Joe Driscoll; Hard Promises; and Country Swagg. The winner of the Jewish Community Center Battle of the Bands will also perform. The Winter Fair will also include a 90-minute Gospel Sunday program under the direction of Joan Hillsman.

Organizers will post a complete list of food and merchandise vendors, rides, and entertainment performances on the Winter Fair’s website in January, the state said.
