AIS, Griffiss Institute partner on cybersecurity, information-security education series

ROME, N.Y. — Assured Information Security (AIS) and the Griffiss Institute (GI), both of Rome, are teaming up to offer a free, virtual education series focusing on topics in cybersecurty and information security.

Both companies are headquartered in the Griffiss Business and Technology Park.

AIS engineers and scientists who are working on research and development projects will conduct the presentations.

Rian Quinn, chief technology officer at AIS, and Patrick Hurley, principal engineer at the GI, developed the idea for the series.

“Several engineers and scientists at AIS participate in a technical council, which works to support internal research and development (IRaD) projects in a variety of ways,” said Quinn. “The GI lecture series is the perfect platform for our staff to share their research findings and expertise with the public.”

Quinn will begin the series with his presentation titled, “What is Retpoline?,” on March 24 at 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Registration for this event is open until March 23, at 12 p.m.

Each presentation in the series is set for 11 a.m. and will be open to the public. The lectures are intended for those who are working or studying within the field of cyber and information security, AIS said.
