AmeriCU opens education and administrative center in Clay

CLAY, N.Y. — AmeriCU has opened an administrative and education center at 7466 Oswego Road in Clay.

The new, multi-use facility will provide credit-union employees with opportunities for additional training and resources to “better serve AmeriCU members and to enhance the overall member experience,” the credit union said.

AmeriCU bought the space in April, began replacing the roof in June, and completed exterior painting in July, Matt Perritano, marketing and communications specialist at AmeriCU, tells CNYBJ in an email. Pawn King previously operated in the space, he notes. Construction of the interior and site enhancements followed in mid-July and the work wrapped up in early October.

AmeriCU facilities and engineering personnel handled the space planning and design process with a plan review conducted by Almy & Associates Consulting Engineers of Utica, according to Perritano.

Rin-Buhr Construction Corp. and Metal Logix, both of Utica, jointly handled the construction and demolition work involved in the project. GFY Construction and Property Maintenance, LLC of Marcy worked on the site improvements on the property. AmeriCU bought the office furniture for the new space from Syracuse Business Center.

Perritano declined to provide a project cost for the new space.

“Financial wellness and education are important components to our members’ financial success, and our dedication to our members, our employees, and this community is what prompted us to open this new center,” Ron Belle, president and CEO of AmeriCU, said in a release “Better knowledge for our employees means our members will be better equipped to make smarter financial decisions.”

AmeriCU employees, along with members of the Greater Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and CenterState CEO, celebrated the new space with a ribbon cutting held Nov. 18.

The nonprofit AmeriCU, headquartered in Rome, has more than 150,000 members, 19 locations, and $2.4 billion in assets.
