ROME, N.Y. — ANDRO Computational Solutions, LLC was selected to participate in the U.S. Army’s xTechPrime competition to identify novel, disruptive concepts and technology solutions with dual-use capabilities that contribute to the Army’s current modernization goals.

The competition promotes collaboration between small businesses and technology integrators to accelerate innovation and provides an opportunity for technology integrators to form teams with small businesses that are competing for a potential Direct-to-Phase II (D2P2) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract valued at up to nearly $2 million.

The first part of the competition involved small businesses proposing concepts toward accelerating innovation and modernization. Businesses selected for part two gave a pitch to the U.S. Army and Department of Defense (DoD) subject-matter experts.

Competing against more than 25 companies nationwide, ANDRO made it through the first two rounds and advances to the third part of the competition, which involves a more in-depth presentation of the potential impact, technical feasibility, and more to a panel of Army and DoD leaders and experts.

The ANDRO team, led by principal investigator and director of ANDRO’s Marconi-Rosenblatt AI Innovation Lab Jithin Jagannath, will compete in the finals on Dec. 11-14 in Alexandria, Virginia. The AI lab’s topic focuses on developing an expandable deep learning tool with radio frequency machine-learning operations for future-proof signal intelligence applications.

The xTechPrime initiative is one of five new ones seeking to enhance the research, development, and deployment of leap-ahead capabilities across the Army.
