SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Arc of Onondaga announced that long-time board member, Chris Centore, is the nonprofit’s new board president.
He was sworn in at Arc’s recent annual membership meeting. Centore, who replaced Jim Cannon after his three-year term, has been a part of the Arc of Onondaga board for 17 years, serving the past eight in leadership roles, according to an Arc news release.
Centore is a partner with the law firm of Barclay Damon, LLP in Syracuse, where he is chair of the firm’s real estate practice area. In addition to his involvement with Arc of Onondaga, he is also co-founder and VP of the Westhill Educational Foundation and provides pro-bono legal services through the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project’s “Talk To a Lawyer” Clinic.
Centore will serve a one-year term for up to three consecutive years as president and is joined by the following board officers: First Vice President, Chuck Seereiter; Vice President, Jeannine Nolan; Treasurer, Jim Moran; Assistant Treasurer, Mark Reid; and Secretary, Gordon Eyer.
Arc of Onondaga states it is one of the largest providers of services to people with developmental disabilities in Onondaga County — serving thousands of individuals and their families and employing 500 people. With nearly 40 different sites throughout Central New York, Arc provides residential, day, employment, clinical, and recreation programs, and services.
