The credit union will announce an opening date and plans for the grand opening soon.

ACFCU purchased the 3,100-square-foot former M&T location last November and has worked with Spectrum Contracting on the building renovations.

In a previous interview with The Central New York Business Journal, Scro stated the branch will employee between five and 10 people with ACFCU’s Auburn branch manager moving to the new office. ACFCU will also be hiring for the new branch.

“We look forward to opening our first office in Onondaga County,” Scro said in a press release. “We want to give more people the opportunity to bank with a local financial institution that has the community’s best interests at heart.”

The credit union is headquartered at 65 Wright Circle in Auburn with additional branches at 101 Prospect Street in Auburn and 2651 Erie Drive in Weedsport.

With $120 million in total assets, Auburn Community Federal Credit Union (www.auburnfcu.org) has more than 7,600 members and serves those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Cayuga, Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison counties.
