Austin named board chairman of Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

SYRACUSE — Carl I. Austin, co-managing partner, and partner-in-charge of the audit department, at Bowers & Company CPAs, was named chairman of the board of directors for Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park.

 

Austin had previously been vice chairman of the nonprofit organization. He has been with Bowers & Company since 1988.

 

Austin is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Le Moyne College.

He is also chairman of the board at Benefit Specialists of CNY, and is active with several other organizations including the DeWitt Community Library Association, Hospice & Palliative Care Associates of CNY, and the Greater Syracuse Business Development Corporation.
