SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse–based Avalon says it has acquired C:DOX, a Cleveland, Ohio–based litigation support and eDiscovery provider.

Avalon entered the Cleveland market in 2014, merging with ProFile Discovery’s Cleveland location.

Avalon describes itself as a “national” provider of eDiscovery, managed services, and traditional litigation support services to law firms and corporations.

Avalon didn’t disclose financial terms of the purchase of C: DOX, which launched in 2005. The deal closed on Oct. 23, Ashley Hazlett, director of marketing at Avalon, tells BJNN.

In the acquisition, Avalon has added to its market presence in Cleveland and will retain all C:DOX employees, adding 15 people to the company. The employees will remain in their current positions, and C:DOX partners, Marty Bohn and Bob DeStefanis, will remain with the company as co-managing partners, Avalon said.

Avalon now has a total employee count of 145, according to Hazlett.

“Due to the very similar litigation support, eDiscovery services, and quality control processes both Avalon and C:DOX offer, this was a natural step toward providing Cleveland with the very best of those services and more,” JP Midgley, CEO of Avalon, said in a statement.

Besides its Cleveland, Ohio locations and its Syracuse headquarters at 901 N. State St., Avalon has additional offices in Utica, Rochester, Buffalo; and Tampa, Florida, according to its website.
