BAE Systems wins $7.7 million contract modification from Defense Department

ENDICOTT, N.Y. — BAE Systems Controls Inc. in Endicott has been awarded a more than $7.7 million modification to a previous U.S. military contract agreement, according to a Department of Defense contact announcement issued on Tuesday.

The modification provides for non-recurring engineering for the Forward Defense Weapons Systems cockpit controls and cabin-intrusion reduction effort and associated prototypes to support the tiltrotor aircraft, the CV-22.

Work will be performed in Endicott (88.7 percent); Fort Worth, Texas (11 percent); and Fort Wayne, Indiana (0.3 percent), and is expected to be completed in June 2022, per the announcement.

Fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation (Air Force) funds totaling almost $1.57 million and fiscal 2020 research, development, test, and evaluation (Air Force) funds totaling $494,000 will be obligated at the time of award. The nearly $1.57 million portion will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland is the contracting authority.
