Barclay Damon to give attorneys, staff the option to work from home even after offices reopen

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Barclay Damon, LLP “in the coming weeks” will reopen its 12 Northeast offices following their closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its attorneys and staff will have the “option” of working from home for part or all of a given week “going forward,” the law firm announced.

Barclay Damon said it plans to review the policy at year-end, noting that its goal is to “create a work environment that offers maximum flexibility.”

“We are fortunate that the firm’s longtime investment in technology training and culture of collaboration across office locations made the transition easy to 100-percent remote working,” said Connie Cahill, deputy managing partner at Barclay Damon, who is leading the firm’s office reopening plan. “Because our service to clients did not waver, and because many of our attorneys and staff found working from home beneficial to their particular situations, we are exploring work-from-home as a permanent change to our delivery model. If successful, we also see the change substantially expanding the geographic boundaries of our search for talent.”

With nearly 300 lawyers, Barclay Damon operates from offices located in the Northeastern U.S. and Toronto. Its Syracuse office is in the Barclay Damon Tower at 125 E. Jefferson St.
