Bariatric practice joins MVHS

UTICA, N.Y. — The bariatric surgery practice of William A. Graber has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Medical Group, effective Oct. 1.

The new practice is called MVHS Bariatric Group. Doctors Graber, Ransford Commey, and Nandita Rao will join MVHS and continue to provide bariatric care to the community, the health system announced.

Graber and his team are board-certified surgeons specializing in bariatric and metabolic surgery. They use the most-advanced techniques to perform weight-loss surgery including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, adjustable gastric banding, and revisional surgeries.

“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to work with Dr. Graber and his talented team of health-care professionals to offer full-time bariatric-surgery care and services to the patients of MVHS and the surrounding communities,” MVHS President/CEO Darlene Stromstad said in a statement. “This is an important service MVHS is proud to now be able to offer.”

MVHS is a nonprofit health-care system that employs more than 4,200 full-time equivalent employees.
