UTICA — Bella Regina Restaurant, located at 239 Genesee St. in Utica, formally held its grand opening on Jan. 16.

Regina Piacentino, the original chef of Café Bella Mia for 11 years, now brings all of her own original recipes to Bella Regina, according to a news release from the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce.

Bella Regina features Piacentino’s chicken riggies, chicken ala pepe, bella greens, homemade rice balls, chicken Sicilian, and other local favorite dishes. A complete dinner menu includes steak, chicken, veal, seafood, and numerous pasta dishes, according to the release.

Located in the heart of downtown Utica, Bella Regina’s Italian atmosphere and décor also includes a Hollywood theme with life-size statues of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Humphrey Bogart, the release stated.

The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; for dinner Monday through Thursday, 4:30 to 9 p.m.; and on Friday and Saturday, 4:30 to 10 p.m.
