Bernier Carr appoints Dimmick to take over day-to-day operations

WATERTOWN — Bernier Carr & Associates, a Watertown–based architecture, engineering, and construction-management firm, has named Kris D. Dimmick vice president of operations and said he will assume day-to-day management of the firm.

Dimmick has been with Bernier Carr since 1991, serving as a member of the firm’s management team and principal-in-charge of many of its local municipal clients.

The firm also announced that Bernard H. Brown, CEO, and Pamela S. Beyor, chairperson of the board, will both be retiring effective at the end of 2013. Brown has been with Bernier Carr for 29 years and Beyor for 28 years.

“There has not been a significant change in the leadership of the firm in the past 15 years. Successful firms recognize the importance of leadership transition as an integral part of their strategic planning,” Dimmick said in a news release. “[Bernier Carr] has established a strong foundation through serving the North County and other regions of the state for 43 years. We have every confidence that the remaining partners will lead the firm well into the future.”

Bernier Carr said the leadership transition is designed to allow the next generation of leaders to emerge and will be implemented throughout the remainder of 2013.

“Bernie and I intend to remain active by continuing to contribute to the firm and the community in a different way. It is very exciting,” Beyor said in the release.

Bernier Carr’s leadership team includes President Rick W. Tague, Dimmick, and nine other partners: Joseph L. Thesier, Mari L. Cecil, Matt J. Cooper, Michael J. Harris, Jason S. Jantzi, Mark B. Kimball, Gerald A. Kostyk, Mickey G. Lehman, and Shawn M. Travers.

Bernier Carr has 83 total employees, including 15 licensed engineers and 10 licensed architects, according to The Business Journal’s latest top ranks list data on the firm.
